Specialised Driving Lessons

Patient, Personalised Driving Lessons Built Around You.

At GetUthere Driving School, we help learners who may benefit from additional support, clearer instruction or a more individualised approach.

Our specialised driving lessons are calm, structured and adapted to your experience, confidence and learning style.

The goal isnt just to pass your test, its to help you build the skills and confidence to drive safely for life.

Specialised Driving Support

Lessons tailored to your individual needs

Some learners benefit from a different approach to traditional driving instruction.

GetUthere provides patient and supportive driving lessons for learners who may experience anxiety, neurodiversity, attention or concentration difficulties, low confidence, previous negative learning experiences or other individual learning needs.

We take the time to understand how you learn best and adjust the lesson accordingly.

Driving Anxiety

Feeling nervous or anxious behind the wheel is very common.

Our driving anxiety lessons focus on creating a calm and supportive environment where you can gradually build confidence without unnecessary pressure.

Lessons can begin in quieter areas before progressively introducing more complex roads, traffic conditions and driving situations as your confidence develops.

Autism & Neurodiverse Learners

Our specialised driving lessons can support autistic and neurodiverse learners who may benefit from a structured and consistent teaching approach.

Instructions can be broken into smaller steps, explained clearly and repeated where necessary.

We focus on helping learners understand not only what to do, but also why particular driving decisions are important.

ADHD Driving Lessons

Driving requires observation, planning, concentration and decision-making.

For learners with ADHD or attention-related challenges, lessons can be structured into manageable stages with clear goals and practical feedback.

We work progressively on skills such as observation, hazard awareness, lane positioning, planning ahead and managing distractions.

Low Confidence or Previous Difficulties

Not every learner has a positive experience when they first start driving.

If you have struggled with previous instructors, failed a driving test, lost confidence or simply feel that you need additional support, GetUthere can help you rebuild your skills at a comfortable pace.

There is no pressure to progress faster than you are ready for.

Returning to Driving

If you have not driven for an extended period, getting back behind the wheel can feel overwhelming.

Our refresher and specialised driving lessons can help you rebuild confidence, update your road knowledge and become comfortable driving independently again.

Lessons can focus on the areas you feel least confident about.

Other Individual Learning Needs

Every learner is different.

If you or a family member requires additional support when learning to drive, contact GetUthere Driving School to discuss your circumstances.

We can talk through your needs and determine whether our specialised driving lessons may be suitable.

A Better Way to Learn to Drive

Patient & Supportive Instruction

We provide a calm learning environment where you can ask questions, practise skills and progress without feeling rushed.

Clear & Structured Teaching

Driving tasks can be broken down into smaller, manageable steps with clear explanations and repetition where required.

Personalised Lesson Plans

Lessons are adapted to your individual ability, learning style, experience and driving goals.

How Our Specialised Driving Lessons Work

1. Tell Us About Your Needs

Before your lesson, let us know about your driving experience, confidence level and anything that may help your instructor understand how you learn best.

2. Start With a Personalised Lesson

Your instructor will assess your current ability and identify the areas where additional support or practice may be beneficial.

3. Build Skills & Confidence

We progressively work through driving skills and real-world traffic situations at a pace that suits you.

As your confidence improves, lessons can gradually become more challenging.

✅Personalised lesson planning

Specialised Driving Lessons or an OT Driving Assessment?

These services are different and serve different purposes.

Specialised Driving Lessons

Specialised driving lessons are suitable for learners who want additional support, confidence-building or a more personalised approach to learning to drive.

They are driving lessons rather than a formal medical or functional assessment.

OT Driving Assessments

An Occupational Therapy Driving Assessment may be appropriate where a medical condition, disability or functional ability needs to be formally assessed in relation to driving.

GetUthere also works with qualified Occupational Therapists to provide OT Driving Assessments.
